Premier League Matchday 12 Preview

Premier League Matchday 12 brings us weekend entertainment before the international break. Here`s what we`ve got lined up!

Manchester United vs Luton

The Red Devils return to Old Trafford on the back of a deflating 4-3 defeat in Copenhagen. United put up arguably their best performance from the kick-off before a red card for Rashford turned the tide in the host's favour. Nevertheless, the Devils can continue winning in the Premier League, having beaten Fulham 1-0 in their last game. The 2 teams met back in 2020 in the Carabao Cup, where United secured a 3-0 victory, and we expect nothing less this time.

Luton put up an inspiring display against Liverpool in their last game, although a last-minute header from Luis Diaz cut their hopes of 3 points short. Just the goal difference is keeping Luton Town out of the relegation zone, and a 5-game winless streak does them no favours going to Old Trafford. Although United have been shaky at home this season, it is hard to see them fumble the points against a struggling Luton side, and we expect the same promising performance as in the mid-week. We expect Manchester United to score and over 2.5 goals.

Wolverhampton vs Tottenham

Wolverhampton will feel hard done after a VAR decision in their 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United. The defeat marked the end of their 4-game unbeaten run, and now find themselves in 14th place. Wolves have taken points off the likes of Man City, Villa and Newcastle this season, giving them a breath of confidence taking on Spurs. O`Neil`s outfit has both conceded and scored in each of their last 9 fixtures in all competitions, so we expect goals in this game.

9-man Tottenham lost their unbeaten Premier League streak in a 4-1 defeat to Chelsea. Despite the defeat, Tottenham still put up a strong performance and is unlikely to be affected by the defeat. Tottenham have won 3 of their last 5 trips to Wolverhampton, however, took a 1-0 defeat in their recent Mollineaux game back in March. This time, Spurs made chances even when down to 9 men, and we can`t see Wolves coping with Postecoglou`s attacking threat. Therefore, we expect Tottenham to win and over 2.5 goals.

Chelsea vs Manchester City

Chelsea took the opportunity of playing against 9 men in the Tottenham game, taking a 4-1 victory in the London Derby. The Blues have lost just 1 of their last 7 games in all competitions, marking a gradual return to form for Pochettino`s side. Unfortunately for them, they face an in-form Man City side, who they have failed to beat City in the last 6 games in all competitions and have only won at the Etihad Stadium back in 2021.

Manchester City have marked their 6th consecutive win in all competitions in their 3-0 victory against Young Boys. The Citizens are going into the game in full confidence, having netted 6 goals past Bournemouth last weekend, and 3 goals in the Manchester Derby in the game before. Additionally to their blistering scoring form, Pep`s side have beaten Chelsea in 4 consecutive Premier League meetings. With both sides in high-scoring forms, we expect a high-scoring game. Therefore, we expect Manchester City to win, and both teams to score.
