Premier League Preview
The Premier League weekend is coming up with some exciting games on watch! Have a look at what we`ve picked for this weekend.
Burnley are yet to record their first Premier League win of the season after a 1-1 draw in Nottingham, leaving them with just 1 point on the table. Their luck is unlikely to turn for the better, as the Clarets have not beaten Man United at Turf Moor since 2009, and considering their start to the season, we are likely to see another poor performance from Kompany`s side.
Pressure is mounting on United after another defeat, this time in the Champions League. The Red Devils have now lost 3 consecutive games in all competitions, having conceded a whopping 10 goals in just 3 games, and will certainly look to take the frustration out this Saturday. 5 of the last 5 of this match-up at Turf Moor ended in u 2.5 goals, so considering United`s recent trips to Burnley, we expect Manchester United to win and under 2.5 goals.
Arsenal extended this season`s unbeaten streak to 8 games with a powerful 4-0 midweek victory over PSV. Going into the London Derby, it is important to note that Arsenal has beaten Spurs in 3 consecutive fixtures at the Emirates and managed to get a double over the neighbour’s last season. Considering their current winning momentum, they are likely to do damage on the day.
Postecoglou has led his side to be in 2nd so far, sharing the points with Liverpool and Arsenal. Spurs quickly adapted to the Australian`s style, and their aggression in attack is reflected in 13 goals scored in the 5 opening PL games. However, the floodgates seem to open in the backline when they travel to the Emirates. The last 4 meetings at Arsenal finished with o. 2.5 goals, therefore, we expect over 2.5 goals, but ultimately Arsenal to win.
A 3-1 victory over LASK in the midweek extended Liverpool's winning streak to 5 games in all competitions. Although the Reds are scoring for fun, with 12 games in 5 EPL fixtures, they have conceded at least once in 4 of the 5 games, which may likely be a problem against the Hammers. Still, it is difficult to see Liverpool losing at Anfield, especially when they have no problems upfront.
The Hammers have shown efficiency in attack this season, having scored 10 goals in 5 PL games. However, similarly to Liverpool, their success does not come without at least 1 goal conceded in each of the 5. Unfortunately for them, they have not won at Anfield in 8 consecutive trips. We have 2 efficient attacking sides, so goals are guaranteed. However, due to Anfield advantage, we expect Liverpool to win, and over 2.5 goals.
