We`ve got a full weekend of mouth-watering fixtures coming our way! Get yourself prepared with our match previews and best bets, starting with a banging fixture coming from the Bundesliga!
Friday – RB Leipzig vs Bayern Munich
The Bundesliga is back with a banging fixture to kick-off the weekend. Leipzig go into this fixture in 3rd spot on the Bundesliga table, with 6 points separating them from Bayern in 1st and just 1 point away from dropping out of the Top 4. The Red Bulls have won 4 of their last 5 Bundesliga games, ending the other one in a draw. A concern however is their inability to keep a clean sheet as they have recorded just 1 clean sheet in their last 5 league games.
Bayern return to domestic action with 4 points lead on Freiburg in 2nd. The Bavarians have been unbeaten in their last 8 league games – 7 wins and 1 draw, with their last defeat against Augsburg, back in September 2022. They have also scored a whooping 18 goals in the last 5 Bundesliga games – a sign that we might be in for a high-scoring game.
Looking at H2H, the Bavarians have won their last 4 encounters against Leipzig. Interestingly, the 3 before those 4 ended in a draw. We predict Bayern Munich to win or draw, and Over 2.5 goals.
Saturday – Liverpool vs Chelsea
Liverpool goes into this fixture with a bit more confidence after getting a 1-0 win over Wolves in the FA Cup. However, they are currently sitting in 9th place on the Premier League table, 10 points adrift from the Top 4. The Reds will certainly come out all guns blazing on Saturday as they are expected to bounce back from an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Brighton in their last league game.
Similarly, to Liverpool, Chelsea is in the process of escaping a mid-table rut. The Blues are placed 10th on the table, with just the goal difference separating them from the Scousers. Chelsea bounced back from their 3-game winless run in the league with a narrow 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace over the weekend, which will give them a nice confidence boost.
Interestingly, the last 4 times these teams met ended in a draw. However, with both sides looking to really get their act together if they are to stay in the Top 4 race, we think we might see both teams play more aggressive football. This time we are leaning more towards Liverpool to win or a Draw, with both teams to score.
Sunday – Arsenal vs Manchester United
In a return fixture that the Gunners will be looking to get their revenge on. Going in as the heavy favourites in this game, the Gunners now have a comfortable 8-point lead in the title race. They are also holding a 12-game winning streak in the Premier League, with their last loss coming from non-other than Manchester United. Their last win came from a comfortable performance against Tottenham, where they have shown a class act of footballing display and they are certainly looking dangerous for this weekend.
Manchester United missed their opportunity to go 2nd on the Premier league table after dropping points against Crystal Palace in their mid-week clash. Still sitting in 3rd, Man United have shown a great run of form, having gone 6 EPL games without a loss, but they are certainly in for a challenge this weekend. Unfortunately for Ten Hag, Casemiro recorded a yellow card with just a few minutes to go against Crystal Palace, ruling him out of the trip to the Emirates – a huge blow for the Red Devils.
Man United has the opportunity to blow this title race wide open. Both sides have 2 wins in their last 5 encounters, and the last 3 games have proved to be enthralling clashes with over 3.5 goals. Although Arsenal is ploughing through the league with high momentum, Man Untied can certainly be a side to cause an upset. We predict both sides to score and over 2.5 goals.
