Frankfurt
Looking back at Frankfurt`s knock-out run, one can only recognize and respect the German side`s qualities. Neither Real Betis, West Ham nor the Catalonian giants Barcelona managed to come out on the winning side against the German Eagles in the 2021/2022 knockout stages. After sinking Barcelona, the Frankfurt side were the underdogs amongst the football fans as they were taking on London`s West Ham, but they put on a dominant performance in the semi-finals winning both legs and going through with a 3-1 aggregate score. Despite having a season to remember in the Europa League, Frankfurt`s European hopes for next season rely on beating Rangers on Wednesday night as Oliver Glasner`s side finished 11th in the league after a 2-2 draw against Mainz over the weekend to close off their Bundesliga campaign. Contrasting to their 8-games winless streak in the league, Frankfurt have not lost one of their 12 Europa League games and managed to score at least 1 goal in every game. Overall, there`s a clear indication that Frankfurt success lies within the Europa League this season and their dominance against some of Europe`s big names puts them in the favourite position in the Europa League final.
