The Seaside will play host to this Saturday`s clash between Brighton and Manchester United at the Amex Stadium!
Brighton
Brighton has impressively turned their poor run of form around nearing the end of the 2021/2022 season. Prior to their 2-1 victory against Arsenal, the Seaside outfit held a 7 game winless streak with 6 of them being losses. Nevertheless, they flipped the switch quite unexpectedly and took all 3 points from the European-chasing sides and are now en route to potentially ending the Premier League season in the top-half of the table. Brighton boosted their hopes with an impressive 3-0 victory against Wolverhampton last weekend. Victories over Wolves, Tottenham and Arsenal would`ve certainly done good their confidence going into a clash against Manchester United, but playing at home has proven to be difficult for the Seagulls this year as they are yet to record a victory at the Amex in 2022.
Manchester United
The Red Devils seem to have pulled themselves out of the rut in their last 2 fixtures with a draw against Chelsea and an impressive 3-0 victory over Brentford on Monday evening. Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane put themselves on the scoresheet on the night, reviving the Red Devils slowly-fading hopes of Champions League football. Although it will take a miracle for a spot in next season`s Champions League, it seems that Rangnick`s outfit are rather focusing on finishing the last few games in a strong form, which is what their recent results suggests might happen. Doing no favour to their trip to the Seaside, the Red Devils lost all of their last 4 away games in the Premier League, but a 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford against Brighton might be a good indication of the result we can see on Saturday afternoon.
Verdict
The Seagulls have dealt blows to the Top 6 chasing sides this season and can definitely be a problem for a Manchester United outfit that can`t seem to find a victory on the road. However, if Rangnick fields a similar well-gelled team that he did on Monday evening it is difficult to see Brighton walking away with any points.
