UCL Semifinals Preview: Real Madrid vs Man City 4 May, 21:00

Another blockbuster clash is on the schedule this evening as Real Madrid host Manchester City in their second leg of the Champions League Semifinals!

Real Madrid

Real Madrid will be looking to cut down the 1-goal aggregate deficit after arguably one of the most extraordinary Champions League clashes last week. The loss in Manchester did little to shake the Madridstas` confidence as they went on to smash Espanyol by 4 goals and secure the Spanish La Liga title. Karim Benzema has yet again got himself onto the scoresheet over the weekend and can certainly be seen as a goal-threat at Santiago Bernabeu, alongside his star striking partner Vinicius Jr. Although with just 1 goal to gain ground on, Real Madrid has never made it to the final after losing their first leg of the semi-final and the Spanish outfit has already tasted the type of challenge they will face at home. Although it is too early to call a winner in this tie, Real Madrid are certainly capable of finding the back of the net even against a well-organized backline like of Man City`s and will no doubt cause more problems for Pep`s Champions League aspirations.

Manchester City

The Citizens put on a dominant performance against Real Madrid last weekend at the Etihad and they will definitely be annoyed with just having a 1-goal lead going to the Spanish capital. Pep`s outfit continued their phenomenal form over the weekend - taking a whopping 4-0 victory against Leeds, with Brazil`s high-flying Gabriel Jesus finding the back of the net yet again. In contrast to Real Madrid, the Citizens have only lost one out of their last 10 UCL ties after taking the first-leg lead and are bringing an impressive run of form to Santiago Bernabeu – winning 4 consecutive games in all competitions and scoring 16 combined goals across those fixtures. Reflecting on last Tuesday`s game in Manchester, the Citizens could`ve netted a few more goals and with their current history of rippling through their opponents` backlines they will definitely be a headache for Ancelotti & Co.

Verdict

Both sides have world-class attacking capabilities which they have displayed last weekend. Additionally, both outfits are playing in incredible forms which have hardly been matched this season. We will most likely see another high-scoring Champions League leg, but the odds are in favour of the Citizens to edge past the Spaniards and set up an all-English Champions League final.
