Chelsea vs Arsenal Preview: 20th of April, 20:45

Arsenal are faced with a serious challenge as they travel to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, where they will look to break their run of 3 consecutive losses.

Chelsea

Chelsea is enjoying a run of good fortune coming towards the end of he 2021-2022 season. The Blues have secured themselves a spot in the FA Cup final on the weekend, they are sitting on an 8-point lead above the Top 4 chasers and a victory at Stamford Bridge will pretty much secure them a spot in next season`s Champions League campaign. Players-to-watch tomorrow evening will definitely be Mason Mount and Timo Werner – a duo that have been gelling quite well together in the past few games with both players adding to their personal goal and assists tallies in a 2-0 win against Crystal Palace, a 3-2 victory in Madrid, and a 6-0 carnage of Southampton. Tuchel seems to have found a rapid response from his side following the narrow Champions League exit and the confidence in his camp seems fairly good. However, Arsenal will certainly be a test of Chelsea`s form tomorrow evening.

Arsenal

The Gunners` chase for next season`s Champions League took a sharp U-turn in their last 3 matches. Prior to their last 3 EPL defeats, Arsenal saw a glimpse of the Top 4 but have now dropped into 6th place following a 1-0 defeat to Southampton, a 2-1 defeat to Brighton, and an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace. A loss against Southampton was a shock to the fans as Arsenal maintained 76% of possession with 23 attempts on goals, but a lack of finishing ability was the catalyst to them missing out on all 3 points. Arsenal is clearly not a finished side and if they manage to put together a few clear-cut chances they will cause problems for the side.

Verdict

With the Premier League title being a 2-man race, Chelsea will put the full focus on securing a spot in the Top 4. Although Arsenal are running on a frustrating losing streak it is difficult to see them settling for a 4th defeat in a row. Both sides will surely go all-out for the victory, and we can potentially see a high-scoring clash at Stamford Bridge.
