FA Cup Semi-finals: Man City vs Liverpool Preview: 16th of April 2022.

We`ve got another blockbuster clash tomorrow afternoon! Having both booked themselves a spot in the Champions league semi-finals, Manchester City and Liverpool meet yet again – this time for a spot in the FA Cup Final!

Manchester City

The 2 sides have kept us on the edge of our seats last weekend when they drew 2-2 in their Premier League clash. Manchester City were faced with a Champions League challenge at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday and unsurprisingly they have kept their composure to get past Simeone`s men with a 1-0 aggregate win. Their FA Cup campaign has also been somewhat of a breeze as they dismantled Southampton in a 4-1 victory in the quarterfinals and prior to that securing a comfortable 2-0 victory against Peterborough. Looking to keep their treble hopes alive, the Citizens are bringing a 10-game unbeaten streak in all competitions to the Wembley Stadium - this time unfortunately against a team that can certainly threaten their FA Cup hopes.

Liverpool

The Reds had to fight a real comeback spirit against Benfica on Wednesday night as they ended the night with a 3-3 draw, but a first-leg domination ensured that Liverpool see themselves to a spot in the Champions League Semifinals with a 6-3 aggregate win. Klopp made 7 changes to the starting lineup on Wednesday including Sadio Mane and Mo Salah starting on the bench, which suggests they will be fresh for the vital clash tomorrow afternoon. Similar to their opponents, the Reds are going to Wembley with a 7-game unbeaten streak and still contending for the Premier League and Champions League titles. There is not much else to say about the 2 sides – both teams posses a dangerous attack, solid defense, and aspirations for domestic and European success, however, tomorrow afternoon one of them will have to forfeit their chances of a treble.

Verdict

This will be a truly captivating clash. Both sides have set dominance on both domestic as well as the European stage and looking back on last weekend there is very little to separate the 2 sides. It is very difficult to predict the winner of this fixture, but it will certainly be an goal-packed and tense afternoon.
