Premier League Game Week 24 Preview

The Premier League Game Week 24 is bringing us some eye-catching action. Here`s what we`re keeping an eye on this weekend.

Manchester City vs Chelsea

Manchester City face a mid-table challenge as they resume their title race on Saturday. The Citizens have enjoyed a strong run of form in the Premier League, having won their last 6 games, with the latest 2-0 victory over Everton. They go into the Chelsea clash after an even bigger confidence boost, having beaten FC Copenhagen 3-1 in the first leg of the Round of 16 in the Champions League. Their last encounter against Chelsea was a blockbuster, as the 2 outfits settled for a 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge. Although Chelsea can give City a challenge, Pep has not lost a single home game in the Premier League this season, and City has not lost to Chelsea at the Etihad in their last 4 meetings in all competitions.

Chelsea go into this clash having recovered from a 2-game losing streak in the Premier League with a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace. The London Derby victory was a follow-up to a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in the FA Cup, suggesting that Chelsea may be picking up form after a winless spell. However, sitting 10th in the Premier League, a clash against the Manchester giants is far from a favourable one. The Blues have been unimpressive on the road this season, having lost 6 of their 12 away games in the English top flight this season, and they neither had a good run of games at the Etihad as of late. Still, looking back at this reverse fixture, we think that Chelsea are a team that can ask City questions and bring us entertainment. Considering that Chelsea seem to have found their form, we expect both teams to score in this game, but ultimately it is hard to look past City as the clear favourites, so we expect Manchester City to win.

Luton Town vs Manchester United

Luton Town have been a side that caused problems for many teams, although their inconsistency is costing them this season. Sitting just 1 point above relegation, Rob Edwards` side goes into the game on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Sheffield, after holding Newcastle to a 4-4 draw and embarrassing Brighton in a 4-0 win. Although Luton has no problems finding the back on the net at Kenilworth Road, as we`ve seen against Brighton, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and more (not all of these games were victories), they have only won 3 of their 12 Premier League games at home this season. It is clear that Luton has a sense for goals, their defensive capabilities seem to be letting them down, and the current, confident Man United side may cause a few problems on Sunday.

As pressure mounted on Erik ten Hag, the Red Devils managed to pull up their socks and go 6 games unbeaten in all competitions. They travel to Kenilworth Road on the back of a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa, having put themselves right back into the Top 4 race. Overall, United have been in good form in the Premier League, having also beaten West Ham 3-0 before. They`ve not been the most convincing side on the road this season, having lost 5 of their 12 away game in the Premier League, although they seem to be absorbing the away crowd well, having won their last 2 away fixtures against Wolves and Aston Villa. The reverse fixture ended in a narrow 1-0 win to Manchester United at Old Trafford, however, with both sides finding the back of the net quite easily nowadays we expect it to be a far more entertaining fixture. Although Luton has caused problems for many top sides at home this season, considering both of their form, we expect Manchester United to win here, but both teams to score and over 2.5 goals.
